what you feel is what you are.

i do believe that im wicked happy.

last night i went to the fair with bret, and we got in free cuz his mom gave him free passes to get in... that was convenient. aaaand lets see what did we do? well..

we went on the ferris wheel
walked around
watched the tractor pull in the arena
ate fried dough while in line for the ferris wheel
look at a bunch of the stuff they had there
went on the ferris wheel again
walked around some more
went back to the area where we watched more of the tractor pull
walked around some more
looked at more stuff
watched the fireworks
walked around

it was a complete blast, even if it doesnt sound like it.

ok, now.. some of the details:

i LOVE the ferris wheel, haha, its gotta be the best ride there, no kidding. so of corse we went on that, but while we were waiting in line, i held our spot while bret went to go get friend dough which was supposed to be for the ride but we ate it all by the time we got to the beginning of the line.. haha oh well.. it was MUY DELICIOUSO. then we got on and got to see the entire park when we stopped at the ALMOST top. it was sooooo beautiful. i loved all the different colored lights. i loved being on the ferris wheel with him too...

we watched the tractor pull which was taking place in the big arena. i never ever thought that seeing which tractor could pull this other thingy would be a competition, much less that i'd enjoy it. i just like races i guess. we sat surrounded by old guys, some of whom were really um... overweight. a couple of the little tractors had some MAJOR smoke problems that were coming out of the exaust. how wonderful. haha me and bre tcouldnt fiure out what the weight box was that the announcer kept talking about. "as you can see, the weight box is sliding forward which is making it very difficult for the driver up fron to continue" and bret thought that he knew what it was.. but it turns out that wasnt it...

after we watched that for a little while, we decided to walk around some more. we looked for the clown guy to dump in the water, but he wasnt there which was too bad cuz i was kinda looking forward to hear him insult all the people. no me or bret though, i would have smaked that silly old clown. and so we walked and walked and walked some more. we looked at some of the stations they had, like the bike one, and we looked in some of the barns where the animals were kept.

it turns out that bret is quite the know it all when it comes to the fair. he goes there alll the time and knows where everything is. we didnt even need to get a map!!

so then we found ourselves back into the arena to watch some more of the tractor pull show. it was then that we finnaly figured out what the weight box was haha. bret was telling me what it really was but i couldent see without my glass very well.. i saw it eventually when it came closer to where we were sitting though. they had to do a pull off cuz these two tractors both got as far as the white line. ok see heres how it works: a bunch of tractos all come into the arena. one at a time they get a chance to pull this big thing with a weight box on it. who ever pulls it the farthest is the winner, who ever pulls it the second farthest comes in second.. so on and so forth. no, they have to stay between two white lines wich make a pretty good sized strip of dirt to go on. IF they reach the end of the strip and cross over a white line at the end which i believe was 200 feet away from the starting place, then they are the winner. if another person does that as well, then they have to bring the tractors back to try it again. there you go...

ok so we were watching and i got up to go to the bathroom, and when i came out, there was fireworks going off outside!! so bret and i left the arena and walked around it till we got to a place where we could see them. there was other people out there too watching them all go off and we were standing near a chain link fence across from some of the trailers there. and we were standing and standing and holding hands and then i kind of fell over, so bret said that we should sit down haha. i fell over cuz like.. have you ever been standing and like.. just randomly lost your balance? well thats what happened. so he sat down and i sat down on his lap and we watched the remainder of the fireworks like that. i realllyyyy enjoyed that. and then.. of course the fire works ended after like.. tenthousand grand finalies.

soon after, when we were on our way to the ferris wheel (again of course haha) i got to meet bret's dad's friend and his wife and their daughter. lets see i believe their names were Maureen, the daughter Haylie (i dont know if thats how its spelled) and i forget teh guys name, it started with and R.. hmm. they were really nice and welcoming. so we chatted with them for a bit, and then went our seperate ways.

bret and i waited in line (again), behind this lady that kept saying how great the flying ride was, and that it made her feel like she was REALLY flying. haha. it was pretty funny. and then we got on again, and looked out over the park and it was just soooooooo pretty. i could have been up on that ferris wheel all night. by that time it was starting to get a little windy, but oh well. and then the ride just HAD to end. i think it should spin around slower. like, a lot slower, so the ride can be longer. oh yeah and every gondola thing should get a chance to stop at the top. thats what i propose. so anyway, i was on the ferris wheel with bret, and loved it. when it stopped we had to get off and bret called his dad to tell him to pick us up in like.. 20 minutes or a half hour or something cuz it was almost time for the park to close down.

and then we walked and walked and walked around. and we stopped in a horse barn where there was all black, all brown, and a couple all white horses. they were gorgouse... and bret explained to me how he'd be helping out mrs.bailot this weekend cuz she has a horse thats going to be there. my bret, such a helper. and it was really nice over by the barns because there wasnt anyyyy people around, so it was really quiet. so we walked some more and found our way to the little road that went to the back parking lot where we'd been dropped off by his dad about 3 1/2 hours earlier.

as soon as we got off the road and into the parking lot his dad drove right up. it was PERFECT timing. even his dad said so. the car ride was reaallyy quick cuz i live so close to topsfield. and we drove right past my house, and had to back up and into the driveway haha. cuz i forgot to tel his dad which one was mine.. oopsy.

so we got out, and bret walked me to the door and i said i had an AWESOME time.. cuz i did. and i got a hug and...

then i got ready for bed, read like.. 2 pages of kayla's book, and went to sleep satisfied.

*smile* i had a great time. i hope bret did too.

i [heart] you all so much, rachel
